Men's Soccer Brine/NEC Player of the Week
|
Jorden Holder, Central Connecticut
A two-time all-NEC performer, Holder sparked the Blue Devil attack last week with a goal and four assists in a 6-1 win over Manhattan and a 2-2 tie against a Stony Brook team ranked eighth by the NSCAA in the New York region. Holder recorded his first goal of the season against the Jaspers, and also fed Andrew Cooper for two additional tallies in the victory. He then assisted on both CCSU goals against the Seawolves, including Alex Harrison’s equalizer in the 87th minute off Holder’s free kick. After leading the NEC with eight assists last season, the native of Oxon, England has taken over the conference lead with six assists in 2005. Holder ranked 18th nationally in assists in the most recent NCAA report and is averaging a league-high 1.2 per outing.
