Ryan Clark, Monmouth

Clark enjoyed a stellar two-game stretch last week helping pace No.24 Monmouth to a pair of 3-0 nonconference victories. The wins extended the Hawks’ win streak to 5-0-0 to start the season for the first time in program history. From the forward position, Clark notched a goal and an assist in each contest en-route to leading the squad with six points on the week. Against Delaware on Sept. 11, the Garden State product registered his first collegiate tally in the 11th minute when he collected the ball at the top of the box and fired a left-footed laser into the far upper corner. The rookie then assisted on MU’s third goal of the half with perfect through ball to teammate Chase Barbieri. On Sunday, the Hawks took on an American University squad ranked first in the NSCAA/adidas Mid-Atlantic Region poll as Clark scored his second marker in as many matches just 27 seconds into play, marking the team’s earliest lead of the season. Just over six minutes later Clark was at it again against the Eagles, who also received eight votes in the NSCAA/adidas national poll last week, this time providing the helper on a Ryan Kinne tally. Currently, the local talent is tied for the league-lead with seven points on two goals and three assists, which is also good for a share of the team-lead. In late-August, Clark was named to the "College Soccer News 100 Freshmen From Coast To Coast To Keep An Eye On In 2009" list after closing out his high school career as the 2008 Shore Conference Player of the Year.
