Shawn Sabo, Monmouth

Sabo becomes the second Monmouth thrower in as many weeks to capture Road Runner Sports field athlete honors, following in the footsteps on teammate Vincent Elardo. Competing at the Lafayette-Rider Winter Games, Sabo posted a pair of seasonal bests that land him amongst the NEC’s Top 4 in each of the two throwing events. The fourth-year Hawk put the shot 15.79m (51’ 9.75”) to claim third on the NEC leader board, surpassing the qualifying standard for the IC4A Championships in the process. Turning in another IC4A qualifier in the weight throw, Sabo claimed the bronze medal by tossing the 32 lb. implement 16.87m (55’ 4.25”).
