Softball Akadema/NEC Pitcher of the Week
|
Jennifer Jacob, Bryant
Jacob’s work at the mound helped Bryant’s launch a six-game winning spurt this past weekend. The sophomore snagged two wins in two starts and provided successful relief efforts, earning two saves. She generated a remarkable 0.00 ERA in 14.0 innings pitched. Jacob, who picked up her first save in the second half of Monday's doubleheader against Mount St. Mary's, came up huge for the Bulldogs against Boston College on Wednesday. With the bases loaded and two outs, Jacob ended the Eagles' threat in the bottom of the seventh by dealing a game-ending strikeout. Two days later, Jacob took the circle against the Blackbirds and dealt five strikeouts in 7.0 innings while walking just three batters en-route to the 9-1 Bryant victory. On Saturday, Jacob carried over her momentum with five strikeouts in 6.0 innings for the righty's fourth win of the season. Jacob allowed zero earned runs and tossed 13 strikeouts in 14 innings.
