McEwan has gained a monopoly over the NEC Bowler of the Week award and does not appear ready to relinquish it anytime soon. The 2011 NEC Bowler of the Year ran her string of consecutive weekly awards to five and has received the honor seven of a possible nine times this season.  In what has become a pedestrian performance for Fairleigh Dickinson’s anchor bowler, McEwan led all competitors in individual average while spearheading a first-place finish for her team at the Northeast Conference Winter Meet.  McEwan averaged 21.34 pins per frame as FDU posted a 7-2 record at the second of three regular season meets sponsored by the NEC.  The third-year Knight left only 12 open frames over the course of nine quint-baker matches, logging a .867 filled frames percetage.  Throwing a team-high 81 strikes, McEwan struck on 52.6 percent of her attempts. Her efforts led to victories over all NEC teams except for Kutztown and Sacred Heart, but, even with the two blemishes, FDU still managed to take over first place in the conference’s regular season standings.
