5-6
Shirak averaged 18.61 pins per frame, the most by any NEC rookie in attendance, as part of New Jersey City’s 8-4 showing at the Eastern Shore Hawk Classic. Competing at an event that hosted 10 of the nation’s top-12 teams (according to the latest NTCA Top 20 Poll), the Garden State product posted the 13th-highest traditional game average (191.0) on the individual leader board. Her effort helped the Gothic Knights win four of five traditional matches contested at the tournament with the lone setback coming to host UMES via a 41-pin margin. Occupying the No. 2 position in NJCU’s baker lineup, Shirak was nearly as good as she was during the traditional play portion of the competition. The first-year Gothic Knight averaged 18.18 pins per baker frame. She accounted for an .849 filled frame percentage throughout the course of the entire event while striking 42 times in 110 attempts.
