Shams comes off a terrific month, especially considering the challenging non-conference slate - which included four Ivy League rivals - the Knights were faced with to begin the spring season.  Shams won four of his seven singles matches, a number of which are worth noting.  Competing at the #1 flight, he knocked off Penn’s Ivan Turudic, 3-6, 7-5, 10-8, and also earned #2 flight victories over Lehigh’s Mitch Peterson, 6-4, 6-4, Stony Brook’s Francis Bertrand, 6-0, 6-1, and three-time first team All-MAAC player Matt Himmelsbach of Marist, 6-2, 7-6 (8).  Shams also posted a pair of doubles victories along with partner Arvis Berzins.
