Women's Lacrosse NEC Player of the Week

Emily Pepe, Sacred Heart
East Quogue, NY / Westhampton
A
Junior

Pepe was clutch for the Pioneers over the weekend collecting 11 points to lead Sacred Heart to a pair of wins, propelling them back into the NEC playoff hunt. The junior scored five goals and passed out six assists in wins at Robert Morris and Saint Francis (PA) this weekend. Despite only putting up two goals in a 10-9 double OT victory at Robert Morris, her second of the day proved to be the most important as it came during sudden-victory over time. Pepe’s two assist came on the Pioneers three-goal run to end regulation, tying the game and sending it to overtime. On Saturday at Saint Francis (PA), the attacker matched her season and career high with seven points, off of three goals and four assist as the Pioneers collected a 14-11 win. Pepe scored three times and assisted on two others in the first half, helping the Pioneers to an 8-4 lead. On the year she leads the team with 31 assists, which ranks second in the conference. Her 4.33 points per game also ranks second.

Lauren Sheridan, Bryant
Bethpage, NY / Bethpage
A
Senior

The New York native scored seven times to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week, while also hitting a major career milestone as she netted the 100th goal of her career in a 12-10 win over Mount St. Mary’s on Thursday afternoon. The goal was one of two on the day and came with 7:51 to play in the first half to give Bryant the 4-3 lead. Sheridan went on to score a career-high and game-best five goals Saturday at Monmouth in the team’s 10-8 victory. Against the Hawks, the senior attacker scored three times in the opening period and added back-to-back free position goals after the break, the first of which proved to be the eventual game winner. She went four-for-seven on free position shots on the week, including a perfect two-for-two against the Mountaineers.
