Hoham was solid both on the field and at the plate for the Blackbirds this weekend, helping LIU notch four critical NEC road wins. The senior shortstop batted .600 (9-for-15), tallied three multi-hit contests and also drove in eight runs while scoring three more in doubleheader sweeps of Central Connecticut State and Wagner. Hoham went 3-for-6 with a pair of runs scored in LIU’s two wins over CCSU (4-3, 3-1). The following day, Hoham turned it up a notch and had six hits in her nine at bats, including a three-run double in the first game against the Seahawks for a 5-3 victory followed by a game-clinching three-run home run in the top of the seventh of the second contest, helping the Blackbirds to a 9-7 victory. The Norco, CA native registered nine putouts and 14 assists without an error at shortstop for the Blackbirds and has flawlessly taken her last 32 chances in Northeast Conference play.
