Hamden, CT / Hamden
Multi
Senior
FitzSimons attempted the Decathlon for the second time this outdoor season, and this time he did so at his home track in Emmitsburg, MD. The site of the 2012 NEC Outdoor Chamoionships hosted the Mount Multis this past weekend where FitzSimons compiled 7,440 points. The point total, which surpassed the season-opening mark (7,390) he posted at the Clyde Littefield Texas relays on March 28, gave him first place at the meet and allowed him to move up to sixth place in the NCAA East Region. FitzSimons fared well in a quartet of field events as the marks he put forth in the high jump, long jump, pole vault, and javelin all rank amongst the Top 7 on the NEC performance list. The veteran Decathlete pole-vaulted 4.55m, a height that ranks second in the NEC and stands only two inches shorter than FitzSimons’ league-leading performance from earlier in the season.
