Alexander contested a 5,000-meter race for the first time all outdoor season at this past weekend’s Penn Relays, and the veteran Blue Devil’s time was by far the best the NEC has seen all Spring.  Alexander crossed the line in 14:07.77 to post a top-10 finish at the historic track meet. The performance means the senior harrier, who won the NEC Individual Cross-Country crown this past fall, will enter the upcoming NEC Outdoor Championships with more than a 13-second lead on the rest of the field. Alexander also has the potential to break the NEC Outdoor title meet record that former Saint Francis (PA) great, and Olympic Marathoner, Brian Sell set in 2001.
