Ritz’s eight hits and four runs in four conference games make the freshman outfielder the fourth different FDU Knight to garner NEC Rookie of the Week honors this season (joining Riley Moonan, Shane Siebler, and Joe Borelli). Ritz produced multiple-hit efforts in the first three games of Fairleigh Dickinson’s four-game NEC set with Mount St. Mary’s.  He went 8-for-16 (.500) with four runs scored and one RBI over the four-game sample. In the outfield, he recorded a pair of putouts and an assist over an error-free weekend.  The freshman was right in the middle of FDU’s Game 3 comeback bid that allowed the Knights to avoid their first series loss since mid-March.  With FDU trailing 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth frame with two outs and no one on, Ritz started a rally. He singled up the middle and came around to score when Ryan Kresky double one batter later. The rookie walked, stole second, and eventually touched home on a groundout during the six-run sixth inning that sealed a 9-6 victory. Ritz recorded a lead-off single in the sixth inning of the series finale and made his way home on a two-run blast by Eric Anderson.
