Gooding began his collegiate career with seventh place finish out of 125 competitors at the Nassaney/Bryant Invitational with a time of 25:52.6. Gooding’s time was the second best among NEC runners at the event and first among NEC freshmen. His 25:52.6 was more than a minute faster than FDU’s top time from 2011 of 27:01.9.
