After sitting out all of last year due to a wrist injury, Zanna made an immediate impact in LIU Brooklyn’s season-opening starting lineup in a competitive 66-53 setback at St. John’s. The 6-7 forward posted 10 points and grabbed six rebounds while battling Red Storm big Chris Obekpa, who ranked in the top-20 nationally last season in blocks. Zanna went 5-12 from the floor in his 28 minutes of action and helped the Blackbirds to a 44-39 rebounding edge in the contest. His layup with 10:32 to play capped a 5-0 LIU run that trimmed the St. John’s lead to 46-43.
