Senior William Cavallo scored two goals, including the game-winner, to lift Quinnipiac to a 3-0 victory in a winner-takes-all match against Fairleigh Dickinson, clinching the Bobcats’ first-ever regular-season title and hosting rights for the 2012 NEC Tournament. The Londonderry, NH product netted the eventual game-deciding goal with just 28:43 elapsed into the first half. He then capped the contest with his third strike of the year in the 81st minute. Just two days prior, Cavallo helped QU defeat Nutmeg State rival Central Connecticut, 2-0, to setup the title match against the Knights.
