Men's Indoor Track NEC Rookie of the Week
|
David Fajoyomi, St. Francis Brooklyn
Fajoyomi reaffirmed his league-leading high jump mark at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York City. The first-year Terrier cleared 2.14m (7’ 0.25”) for the second straight week to take second place behind Duke’s Tanner Anderson in a talent-stacked field. Fajoyomi will enter the NEC Championship as the No. 1 seed in the high jump, attempting to win a title that former St. Francis (NY) great Dean Brown has held for each of the past two years. This week’s honor marks the third time this season Fajoyomi has won the rookie award, which has been monopolized by freshman high jumpers this year. Fajoyomi, Monmouth’s Tommy Butler, and Central Connecticut’s have all cleared the IC4A standard of 2.04m (6’ 8.25”) and have the hardware to prove it.
