Men's Soccer Brine/NEC Player of the Week
|
Art Satterwhite, Monmouth
Satterwhite posted his league-leading 10th shutout of the season on Sunday as Monmouth extended its school record unbeaten streak to 11 games and clinched its first NEC regular season title since 1993 with a 2-0 win over Mount St. Mary’s. Satterwhite turned away five shots and helped preserve the win when he redirected a Mount volley on goal over the crossbar midway through the opening stanza. The Somerset, NJ native enters the postseason with four straight shutouts to his credit and his ten this season established a new school mark. Satterwhite leads the NEC with a 0.71 goals against average, and was even better in league play this season, permitting just two goals in nine matches for a 0.20 gaa. During the course of the Hawks’ unbeaten string, he has yielded four goals in 1,101 minutes.
