Columbus, OH  --  On a day in which wind gusts reached 35 miles per hour, the Fairleigh Dickinson University women's golf team competed in the third and final day of the 2009 NCAA Central Regionals. The Knights shot a team score of 346 to finish the tournament with a three-round total of 995.

After being tied after the first two days with Murray State, the Knights were only five strokes behind 20th place Murray State.

The top eight teams of the regional advance to the championship: UCLA (877); Purdue (896); Wake Forest (899); Oklahoma State (901); Michigan State (905); New Mexico (912); Ohio State (917); and UT- Chattanooga (922).

Michele Holzwarth tied for 75th place, leading the Knights with a three-day total of 241 (80-80-81) with consistent play despite the weather conditions. Eva Mayr carded a 243, shooting an 82 on the first day and knocking four strokes off her score the second day. On the final day, she shot an 83. Lisa Warrilow finished with a 249 (80-81-88), while Sarah Feldman turned in a 265 (89-82-94) and Jessica Benoit carded a 272 (86-89-97).

The Knights, in the program's third year, reached the NCAA Regionals after winning their second-straight Northeast Conference tournament, held in Hershey, PA.
