It was an impressive weekend for Monmouth’s Khari Bowen as he sweeps both NEC Athlete and Rookie of the Week honors following his performance at the Paul Short 8K Invitational. On the women’s side reigning NEC Individual Champion, Rebecca White of Quinnipiac, picks up NEC Women’s Athlete of the Week honors for the first time this season while Saint Francis’ (PA) Kylie Jackson nabs NEC Rookie of the Week. Bowen ran to a time of 26:10 at last Friday’s Paul Short meet to record a top-twenty finish in the highly competitive field of 382. For the women, White paced the Bobcats at the Paul Short 5K Gold Race with a time of 21:35, leading her to a 55th place finish. Jackson earns her first NEC Rookie of the Week nod after she boosted Saint Francis (PA) to a 3rd place showing at the George Mason 6K where she placed 20th in 24:29.
