Brooklyn, NY
-- Long Island University women's soccer forward Ariana Calderon added to her list of career accomplishments recently, as she was named a Second Team Scholar All-America by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Calderon becomes the first player in the history of the LIU women's soccer program to earn national honors from the NSCAA.

A nursing major, Calderon became Long Island's all-time leading scorer in 2011, totalling 69 points over her four-year career. The Sacramento, Calif. native also tied the career goals-scored mark of 29. This season, the 5-6 forward tallied 10 goals and six assists as she helped the Blackbirds to a Northeast Conference tournament championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
