Monmouth's Monique Goncalves
After a three-goal week that included two game winners, freshman Monique Goncalves of Monmouth picks up both NEC Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors. The Warren, NJ nativetallied the game-winning score in Monmouth’s 3-1 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday, and scored both the game-tying goal and clinching goal in the Hawks’ 3-2 win at Wagner on Sunday. Jessica Sexton of LIU Brooklyn earns NEC Defensive Player of the Week honors, after recording a shutout against Sacred Heart with five saves, and not allowing a goal in the last 65 minutes of the Monmouth game to keep the match at a 1-1 draw.
