Sacred Heart's Alyssa Selmquist, and Wagner's Dan Zaccariello and Alexis Bivona
Wagner's Dan Zaccariello and Alexis Bivona, and Sacred Heart's Alyssa Selmquist all take home NEC Athlete of the Week honors for their performances last week. Zaccariello narrowly missed his first title, taking second place at the Father O'Neil Invitational with a season-best time of 25:51 for the 8K course. His teammate, Bivona, won her second straight Father O'Neil title, while also leading the Seahawks to the team title. Selmquist finished in fourth place out of 219 competitors in a tough field at the Princeton Invitational. She also broke the Pioneers' program record by a 34 seconds. NEC Rookie of the Week nods belong to Monmouth's Domenick D'Agostino and St. Francis (NY)'s Chantalle Blundell. D'Agostino placed 56th out of 212 competitors at the Princeton Invitational with a time of 25:11, while Blundell was 19th place out of 143 athletes with a time of 22:16.01 to pace the Terriers at the Lafayette Invitational.
