It was certainly an uphill climb, but nothing the Broncs hadn’t accomplished in the past. Rider needed to win back-to-back games – one against 5-0 Saint Francis (PA) and the other against Garden State rival Monmouth (which was 5-1 heading into the game).

The Broncs won them both and the postseason Northeast Conference Tournament is back in Lawrenceville as a result.

Rider (6-1) captured the NEC regular season title for the fourth consecutive year - sharing it in this case with Saint Francis (PA) - and will host the four-team tournament at Ben Cohen Field on November 2-3.

As a result of its loss to Garden State rival Rider, Monmouth (5-2) will hold the No. 3 seed in the upcoming event. The Hawks have advanced to the NEC Tournament final in each of the past two seasons.

Saint Francis (PA) (6-1), whose lone league loss came at Rider on October 26, will be the No. 2 seed.  The Red Flash claimed a share of their first-ever NEC regular season title and are making back-to-back postseason appearances for the first time in program history.

Quinnipiac topped Bryant, 3-0, in its regular season finale to secure a NEC Tournament berth for the fifth consecutive year under head coach Becca Main.  The Bobcats, who have 12 overall victories, will take the No. 4 spot.
