LIU's Annika Foit and RMU's Becky Jay
After leading her team to an undefeated weekend, Annika Foit, picks up another Molten/NEC Player of the Week honor. Foit led the Blackbirds with 30 kills, 4.29 per set, with a hitting percentage of .400. Robert Morris' Becky Jay joins her, while also earning a share of the Molten/NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week award. Jay contributed 22 kills while hitting .340 on the weekend, with 4 solo blocks and 10 block assists for 1.40 blocks per set. The sophomore tied her career-highs in solo blocks (4) and total blocks (10) in victory over 3-1 win over Central Connecticut. Sara Fernandez is the other Molten/NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, after stepping in as libero for the weekend, Fernandez averaged 5.50 digs per set (18 vs. Bryant and 15 vs. FDU). Her 11-point service run in the second set against the Knights lifted the Pioneers from a seven-point deficit, a huge part of the three-set sweep. Finally, Makenna Lommori is once again Molten/NEC Rookie of the week. The freshman chipped in 94 assists over the weekend, as well as 11 digs, three blocks and a pair of service aces. She averaged 11.75 assists per set, 1.38 digs per set and .38 blocks per set.
