NEC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Release (3/26)
3/26/2012
Mount St. Mary’s Andrew Scalley notched a career-high for points in a game last week, totaling seven with two goals and five assists in his team’s third win of the season, a 15-6 decision over Michigan to earn this week’s NEC Offensive Player of the Week honor. Earning NEC Defensive Player of the Week honors, Bryant’s Jameson Love turned aside 11 shots, including five in the fourth quarter, as the Bulldogs stretched their winning streak to a league-leading four games and defeated Stony Brook, 10-9, in double overtime. Joining his fellow Bulldog teammate, freshman Kevin Massa continued his impressive rookie campaign with a 16-for-24 performance against the Seawolves. He also grabbed 10 ground balls as he increased his league-leading faceoff winning percentage to 64%, a mark that ranks seven percent better than the next closest competitor.
