It was all about pitchers and catchers in the opening weekend of league play as Sacred Heart’s Nicole Sidor and Mount St. Mary’s Nicole Pagano earned NEC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors, while Robert Morris freshman catcher Samantha Santillo earned the nod for both NEC Player and Rookie of the Week. Sidor posted a 0.79 ERA on the weekend as she fanned 16 in 18 innings while Pagano ended the weekend with a 0.37 ERA which featured a one-hit shutout victory over Quinnipiac on Friday night. Offensively, Santillo posted big numbers at the plate going 8-for-16, tallying the first three extra base hits of her career, including featured two homers.
