Two of the three NEC Baseball weekly honorees hail from opposite ends of the Garden State rivalry. Monmouth ace Pat Light retained the NEC Pitcher of the Week award after flirting with perfection against Wagner. The NEC Rookie of the Week award made its way up to North Jersey for the second time this season with Fairleigh Dickinson’s Riley Moonan becoming the latest to snag the honor. The rookie posted a .524 OBP last week for FDU, which took three of four from Quinnipiac. Defending NEC champion Sacred Heart swept a four-game series from Mount St. Mary’s thanks to help from NEC Player of the Week John Murphy. The junior shortstop scored four runs and drove in another five against the Mount.
