Monmouth and Robert Morris are all over the latest installment of the NEC’s track & field weekly awards program. The Hawks picked up four of the six honors while the Colonials claimed the remaining two. Monmouth’s Vincent Elardo threw his way to the men’s field award while his freshman teammate, javelin throw Zach Torrell took the rookie honor. Robert Morris hurdler Chris Carper claimed the NEC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week award after posting two league-leading times at the Florida State Relays. Monmouth sprinter Laura Williams and discus thrower Qiyana Hill won the NEC Track Athlete and Field Athlete of the Week honors, respectively. The women’s rookie award went to a Colonial for the second week in a row. This time, Dutch-born Heptathlete Tara Van Schie earned the accolade.
