Saint Francis (PA) softball doubleheader on Sunday to raise money for Novasky Foundation
4/11/2012
Loretto, PA – On Sunday April 15, the Saint Francis University softball team will not only be squaring off with Northeast Conference foe Bryant, but will also be playing for something on a much larger scale.
Sunday is the team’s “Hitting for Hope” charity day in which the Red Flash will be playing to benefit freshman Chelsea Rex’s six-year-old cousin Emily. Emily was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of five and is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant in which insurance will not cover.
Since the theme of the day is “Hitting for Hope” the team is asking for a pledge of any amount for every hit that the Red Flash or Bulldogs collect to go towards helping make Emily’s dream come true. All donations will be given to The Novasky Foundation who in turn will present Emily and her family with 100 percent of what is raised.
