Somerset, NJ -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's and women's programs have earned top seeds in the 2012 Northeast Conference (NEC) Tennis Championships, set to commence on Friday, April 20 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, NJ. The tournament will be contested over three days in a partial consolation format.

Under the direction of Ira Miller, the FDU men finished the regular season with a 12-7 overall record and perfect 4-0 mark against NEC opposition. Over the last two weeks, the Knights defeated both Quinnipiac and Monmouth - seeded second and third, respectively - along with defending champion Sacred Heart. FDU last claimed the NEC title in in 2008 and has captured a league record ten championships since winning the program's first crown back in 1988.

FDU will be shooting for its third NEC women's title and first since the 1988 campaign when plays begins on Friday. The Knights were the 2011 NEC runner-up, dropping a tightly-contested 4-3 decision to defending champion Quinnipiac. Helmed by Miller, FDU enters the postseason with a 13-7 record and 3-2 slate against league rivals. Six-time NEC champion Quinnipiac is seeded second, followed by Sacred Heart in the third spot.
