With a playoff spot on the line Sacred Heart’s Emily Pepe took matters into her own hands as she scored 14 points over the weekend to help the Pioneer’s earn the top spot in the NEC Tournament and for her efforts earns NEC Player of the Week honors. Robert Morris’ Emily Carlo collects defensive player of the week honors after tallying nine ground balls and six caused turnovers, while Monmouth’s Katie Donohoe earns NEC Rookie of the Week honors after a solid performance in a game with playoff implications. The Northeast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship will be hosted by Sacred Heart who earned the top spot after a 10-9 win over Central Connecticut, they also earn a share of the regular season championship with Quinnipiac collecting the other half. The Pioneers will play the Mount at 1 PM on Friday, followed by Quinnipiac vs. Monmouth at 3:30.
