 Bryant won all five games on its schedule last week and two of the men who helped the first-place Bulldogs do so earned accolades from the Northeast Conference.  Bryant senior Jamie Skagerlind claimed the NEC Player of the Week award following 12 hits, six of which went for extra bases, in a five-game span. Skagerlind’s backup at first base, Matt Zanotta, earned a share of the NEC Rookie of the Week award. Zanotta was on base 10 times and scored five runs last week. Wagner second baseman Nick Dini earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors alongside Zanotta. Dini drove in nine runs for the Seahawks, who went 3-1 in games against MAAC members Saint Peter’s and Iona. The NEC Pitcher of the Week award went to Sacred Heart southpaw Nick Leiningen. The sophomore lefty had his best outing of the season in a 4-1 series-opening victory over LIU Brooklyn.
