SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University has announced the resignation of women's lacrosse coach Karen Healy. The announcement was made today by Director of Athletics Bill Smith and Healy, who will pursue other opportunities.

"I want to thank Karen for everything she has done with guiding our women's lacrosse program into Division I," said Smith. "She has the program in excellent shape for the future and has been a class act to work with for the past seven years. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors."

Healy posted a 52-60 overall record during her seven seasons at Bryant, including an 18-7 mark against Northeast Conference schools. Bryant finished above .500 in each of the past three seasons in league play, including a 7-2 mark in 2011, good enough for a second-place finish.

Bryant will begin an immediate search for her replacement.
