In the final week of Northeast Conference Softball action, Central’s Arielle Bruno
took home NEC Softball Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career after leading the Blue Devils to a 6-0 week in which she hit .400 and recorded four home runs at the plate. While Quinnipiac’s Katie Alfiere
earned NEC Pitcher of the Week accolades after pitching a team-best 13 and 2.3 scoreless innings. NEC Rookie of the Week honors went to Tess Apke
of NEC Tournament host Robert Morris who went 7-for-15 at the plate, helping the Colonials to a 3-1 record against Big East rival Pitt and Youngstown State. The NEC Championship kicks of Thursday as #1 seeded Robert Morris hosts #4 Monmouth and #2 Quinnipiac faces #3 LIU Brooklyn. The championship is double elimination and runs through Saturday.
