Fairleigh Dickinson won its Northeast Conference series for the third week in a row and two of the men responsible for the Knights’ success received recognition in the latest installment of the league’s weekly awards program. Pitching FDU to a victory that allowed the Knights to match their overall win total from 2011, NEC Rookie of the Week Joe Borelli blanked Wagner for all 7.0 innings in Game 2 of the four-game set. Meanwhile, NEC Player of the Week Ryan Kresky was busy playing an error-free shortstop and hitting .692 (9-for-13) against the Seahawks. The NEC Pitcher of the Week award was the lone honor to go to someone not from FDU. Bryant’s Craig Schlitter surrendered a lead-off triple, but nothing else in his near-perfect game against Central Connecticut.
