SFPA's Mills and Bridge Earn Spots at the NCAA East Regional

Loretto, PA –Saint Francis University track and field will be represented at the NCAA East Regional on both the men's and women's side as seniors Christin Bridge (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and Chris Mills (Pikesville, Md./Western Tech) were named to the field.
 
Bridge will to be looking to put an exclamation point on one of the most storied throwing careers in Saint Francis history. She holds eight Northeast Conference individual titles and some of the best throws in school history in the shot put, discus throw and hammer throw. Bridge will compete in the shot put at the East Regional after posting a season-best toss of 15.23-meters (49 feet, 11.75 inches) at the Penn Relays. The mark ranked as the second-best shot put toss in school history and currently ranks 38th overall in the East Region.
 
Mills earned a spot in the 10,000-meter run field thanks to his time at the Bison Outdoor Classic, where he was the top college finisher with a season-best time of 29:47.91. The time is also a career-best for the senior and ranks as the fifth-fastest time in Saint Francis school history behind the marks of former Olympian Brian Sell and Ryan Sheehan. Mills' time ranks him 45th overall in the NCAA East Region. Mills is looking a cap an excellent senior season in which he earned Outstanding Track Performer of the meet honors at the Northeast Conference Indoor Championships and earned the Most Valuable Performer of the meet award.       
 
The regional championship competitions will be held May 24-26th. The East region will be held at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. The qualifiers out of the East and the West regionals (held in Austin, Texas) will compete in the NCAA Championships held June 6-9 in Des Moines, Iowa.
