West Long Branch, NJ -- Monmouth University senior Jamie Rosenkranz (Oakhurst, N.J./Ocean Township) was named to the Capital One Academic District II First Team, the organization announced late Friday afternoon. Rosenkranz, a business administration major, compiled a 3.56 grade point average, while leading his team to its second-straight 30-win season.
Rosenkranz is now eligible to be nominated for Academic All-American honors.
This season, the senior is batting .297 (57-for-192) with 13 doubles, and a triple. Last month against Central Connecticut State, Rosenkranz connected on his third home run of the year, his 200th career hit in a Monmouth uniform. The local product, who was a two-time Northeast Conference Player of the Week recipient, has 22 RBIs, while crossing home plate a team-best 37 times. Rosenkranz, who is one of four players to start all 48 games this season, is perfect 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts.
Monmouth returns to action tomorrow at 1 p.m. as it host Bryant in a Northeast Conference doubleheader.
