Hackensack, NJ -- The Fairleigh Dickinson University women’s bowling team saw all eight members of the 2011-12 squad earn National Tenpins Coaches’ Association Academic Honors, as announced by the NTCA on Monday, July 16.

Headlined by NTCA Division I Player of the Year Danielle McEwan’s place on the All-NTCA Academic First Team, the Knights were the only team in the nation to have every member of the roster earn the associations’ highest academic honor.

Recent graduate Joelly Carrillo earned Second Team honors, while Brianna Carlo, Michelle Hunzaker, Meghan Kelly, Erica Schneider, Liat Vizenfeld and Jessica Wahler each earned recognition for a GPA over 3.40.

The NTCA honored fifteen student-athletes, including McEwan and Carrillo, with first, second and third team based upon a combination of performance and academic accomplishments. 140 student-athletes were honored for academic accomplishments. All NCAA bowlers who compile a minimum grade point average of 3.40 during 2011-12 are eligible for academic recognition. The team designations are allotted to those student-athletes who, in addition to the 3.4 minimum GPA, drew the most voting support for the NTCA’s All-America teams.
