Quinnipiac Announces 2012 Hall of Fame Class

Hamden, CT – The Quinnipiac Athletics Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the Class of 2012, to be inducted on Nov. 10, 2012 at York Hill’s TD Bank Sports Center. This year’s class will be comprised of eight former student-athletes, two teams and two coaches. With this year’s class, the Hall of Fame will now feature 124 former student-athletes, 11 head coaches and administrators and eight teams.
"On behalf of Quinnipiac and the Department of Athletics and Recreation, I want to congratulate our 2012 Hall of Fame Inductees and teams," Director of Athletics and Recreation Jack McDonald said. "I also want to thank the Athletic Advisory Board for nominating and selecting these outstanding inductees."
The induction ceremony and reception will take place at 11 a.m. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children, age 12 and under, and includes admission to the men's ice hockey team’s game against ECAC Hockey opponent Cornell at 7 p.m. Register online at www.quinnipiac.edu/events.xml or call 203-582-8610 for more information.
The Class of 2012 inductees are men’s basketball’s Nate Pondexter, women’s lacrosse’s Megan Matthews, baseball’s Joe Zangari, men’s soccer’s Everson Maciel, men’s lacrosse’s Joe and Mike Baglio, women’s tennis’ Jessica (Uccello) Asadourian and women’s basketball’s Kim Misiaszek. In addition, the 2001 field hockey and the 2001-02 men’s ice hockey teams, both of which won their respective conference championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, will become the seventh and eighth teams in school history to be inducted. Field hockey head coach Becca Main and men’s ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold will also become the eighth and ninth head coaches in Quinnipiac history to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
