Bryant's Stephanie Reilly Places Ninth in Heat of 3,000m Steeplechase at Olympics

Congratulations to Bryant's very own Stephanie Reilly who represented her native country of Ireland Saturday morning at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Reilly, who enters her fifth year as the head coach of the Bryant men's and women's cross country and track & field teams this fall, placed ninth in the second heat of the 3000 meter women's steeplechase, finishing in a time of nine minutes, 44.77 seconds.
Sofia Assefa of Ethiopia won the heat in 9:25.42 while Hiwot Ayalu, also of Ethiopia, turned in the best time of the three heats in 9:24.01 to advance to the finals Monday. Reilly's time was the 26th-best out of the three heats combined among the 44 world-class runners competing in the steeplechase.
Reilly was cheered on by her entire family who made the trip to London for the Olympics, joining the more than 80,000 fans in Olympic Stadium to see their Irish Olympian.
