Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Weekly Release (9/17)
9/17/2012
Central Connecticut’s
Reece Wilson stole the show this past weekend, scoring three goals and leading his team to a 1-1 record at the Belmont University Mafiaoza’s Invitational to earn NEC Player of the Week honors. The senior midfielder found the back of the net in a 3-2 double-overtime setback to host Belmont before depositing two more in a 3-1 win over Lipscomb. The team’s outright leader in nearly every offensive category, Wilson ranks third in goals (3), goals per game (0.50), points (8) and points per game (1.33) among all NEC players. On the rookie side, Bryant’s
Brett Larocque scored once and assisted on another as the Bulldogs got their first win of the season, a 2-1 decision over visiting George Washington. Doing all of his damage within a span of four minutes and 58 seconds, the Ottawa, Ontario native setup the game’s first goal at the 63:40 mark, then sealed the victory with his second goal of the season, a shot that rang off the crossbar and found paydirt with 68:38 showing on the clock.
