Stanford, CA -- Sophomores Brianna Maynard and Cristina Felip each fired rounds of 76, and the LIU Brooklyn women's golf team registered its top round of the three-day NCAA Regionals on Saturday afternoon. The Blackbirds shot 315 to match Northern Arizona's effort for the final round, seven shots better than their previous best score from day one.
Maynard registered a team-high four birdies on her round, while Felip carded 13 pars as the teammates matched each other for the best round of the tournament by any LIU player. The five-over par round by Felip represented a five-stroke improvement from her score on Friday.
Freshman Marisol Doglioli matched each of her first two scores at 80 on Saturday, while sophomore Alice Boothroyd shaved a stroke off her second-round score and finished with an 83. Freshman Victoria Fagan totaled 96 on her final day of NCAA Regionals to round out LIU's competitors.
The University of Southern California earned the team victory, with USC's Annie Park and Purdue's Paula Reto tying for medalist honors at the event. USC and Purdue join six other teams (Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Stanford, Arizona, Oregon and San Jose State) in advancing to NCAA Championships.
