Daytona, FL - The LIU Brooklyn women's golf team ran away with the 2014 Northeast Conference Women's Golf Tournament Sunday. For the third-straight year, the Blackbirds hoisted the conference trophy at the LPGA International "Jones" course in Daytona, FL. Sophomore
Marisol Doglioli (Aosta, Italy/Mount St. Mary's) shot an outstanding 6-under par (66) in her final round to take the individual title with a three-round score of 210 (-6).
Doglioli's performance on Sunday was the lowest individual round score (66) and three-round score (210) are the lowest tournament scores in NEC history. Head coach Natalie Desjardins guided four Blackbirds to top-10 finishes, also earning them all-conference honors. Brianna Maynard (Auckland, New Zealand/Rosehille College) finished tied for third (225, +9) while Victoria Fagan (Kensington, CT/Berlin) and Cristina Felip (Barcelona, Spain/IES Joaquim Blume) finished eighth and nineth with scores of 232 (+16) and 235 (+19) respectively.
Saint Francis U scored 924 (+60) to finish as the runner-up. Fairleigh Dickinson (943) finished third in the team standings, followed by Sacred Heart (955), while Robert Morris was seven strokes behind the Pioneers in fifth. Wagner finished sixth, and Central Connecticut and St. Francis Brooklyn rounded out the eight-team field.
Mallory Cortis (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) led the Red Flash with a 74 on day three and a +9 for the tournament. Cortis finished fifth and was followed by teammates Ann Colligan (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) and Taylar Jaramillo (Belen, NM/Belen) in sixth and seventh.
Robert Morris sophomore Halley Morell (Brecksville, OH/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) carded a 75 to move her to second place. Morell led the Colonials in their final NEC Tournament appearance.
LIU Brooklyn will go on to represent the NEC at the NCAA regional competition.

The 2014 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships selections will be announced live on Monday, May 5 during Golf Central, Golf Channel’s daily signature news show, with dedicated segments airing that evening from 6-7 p.m. ET. Additionally, Golf Central will be streamed live on Golf Channel’s website via Golf Live Extra at golfchannel.com and posted afterward on ncaa.com.
