Bryant Men's Golf Finishes Strong, Wraps NCAA Regional Play

Columbia, MO -- The Bryant University golf team finished the last day of the NCAA tournament strong with a team score of 296 behind a 73 from sophomore Kyle Buschmann (East Haddam, Conn.).  The Bulldogs finished the regional in 14th place but improved on their Day 1 and 2 scores of 316 by 20 strokes.

Buschmann paced the Black and Gold with a three-day score of 231, and was followed closely behind by Sam Russell (Southborough, Mass.) and Zach Garbacik (South Hadley, Mass.) who carded three-day scores of 233 and 234 respectively.  Garbacik shot a 74 on Day 3 and Russell shot a 78.  Joe Walp (Portland, Maine) and Ryan Tombs (Bedford, N.H.) rounded out Bryant's starting five with three-day scores of 235 and 237 respectively.

Individually, Emilio Cuartero of Missouri shot 11 under par with a three-day score of 205. In the team standings Oklahoma State came in first with a three-day team score of 831 (-33) and were followed closely by Arkansas and Missouri, who carded three-day team scores of 836 and 837 respectively.  LSU and Iowa State will join OSU, Missouri, and Arkansas in the next round of the NCAA Tournament on May 23rd.

The Bulldogs close out their year with their first-ever conference tournament title, first-ever NCAA tournament appearance, three all-conference first team selections in Joe Walp, Ryan Tombs, and Kyle Buschmann, and NEC Rookie of the Year selection Ryan Tombs.  For all news and information regarding the Bryant University golf team, visit bryantbulldogs.com.
