Philadelphia, PA –
When it comes to NEC Men’s Lacrosse Championship Games, Bryant is now a perfect 3-for-3.

The No. 20 Bulldogs ended the first period of play with a 3-0 lead over Hobart and never looked back en-route to their third straight NEC Men’s Lacrosse Championship.

The 10-4 victory Saturday afternoon at Sweeney Field bumped Bryant’s record to 14-4. Meanwhile, first-year NEC member Hobart fell to 5-10 overall.

Sophomore attacker Shane Morrell (Glen Mills, Pa./Episcopal Academy) led all players with five goals in the game including two of the three goals scored in the third period. Senior teammate Colin Dunster (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich) tallied two goals and two assists on the day for the Bulldogs with Kevin Massa (Huntington, N.Y./Elwood John Glenn), Dan Sipperly (Greenwich, N.Y./Elwood John Glenn) and Rob Goeren (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) each added one goal apiece.

For the Statesmen, Cooper Stefaniak (Lancaster, N.Y./St. Francis), Brendan Saylor (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport), Jake McHenry (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) and Zach Reed (Bath, N.Y./Bath-Haverling) each tallied a goal in the game.

The Bulldogs were able to control the pace of the game as they opened the game with a 3-0 lead before Hobart would score in the second period. The score was 4-2 at halftime as Hobart was able to cut into the lead with goals from Stefaniak and Reed.

Senior goalkeeper Peter Zonino (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) kept the Statesmen in the game with 10 saves, but the Bulldogs were able to get six past him in the second half on route to a 10-4 win. Bryant sophomore goalkeeper, and 2014 NEC Defensive Player of the Year, Gunnar Waldt (Freeland, Md./Saint Paul’s School) made 14 saves in the game as he backstopped the Bulldogs to their third straight NEC Championship.

Both teams only score one man-up goal as the Statesmen were 1-3 and the Bulldogs went 1-5 in the game.  Bryant outshot Hobart by a total of 37-27 while also holding a 41-17 advantage in ground balls.
