Eugene, OR -- LIU Brooklyn sophomore Mica-Jonathan Petit-Homme earned Second Team All-America honors at the NCAA Men's Track and Field Outdoor Championships in the 400-meter hurdles on the first day of competition on Wednesday evening.

Petit-Homme ran to a time of 50.96, just off his best time of 50.78 set at the NCAA East Regional Championship earlier in May. The lone Northeast Conference competitor in the event, he placed 12th overall, just missing a spot in the eight-person final.

This is the second straight season Petit-Homme has been recognized as an All-American, having earned Honorable Mention status in 2013.

The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship continues tomorrow, June 12. Brendon Rodney competes for the Blackbirds on Thursday in the 200-meter dash, scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. ET, while Kemar Lewis takes part in the high jump on Friday, June 13 at 5:00 p.m. ET.
