NEC Defensive Player of the Week
Gretchen Fay, Wagner
Midfielder, Junior, Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan
Fay was instrumental in leading a second-half Seahawk comeback that fell just short as Wagner dropped an 11-10 decision against Iona on Wednesday. Fay shut down Iona’s attack in the second half as the Gaels did not score for the remaining eighteen minutes of the game, allowing the Seahawks to score five unanswered goals. The junior finished with an impressive stat line with one goal, seven ground balls, five caused turnovers, and two draw controls.
NEC Rookie of the Week
Dana Davis, Robert Morris
Midfielder, Freshman, Garnet Valley, PA/Garnet Valley
Davis continued her spectacular freshman season this weekend, leading the Colonials to two road wins at Niagara and St. Bonaventure. At Niagara, Davis posted a season-high four goals on five shots and was a perfect two for two on free position shots. At St. Bonaventure, Davis recorded a monster all-around game.
