Brendon Rodney and junior
Mica-Jonathan Petit-Homme each earned Second Team All-America accolades after performing in their respective individual events at NCAA Championships on Wednesday. Rodney finished 13th in the 200-meter dash while Petit-Homme closed in 15th place in the 400-meter hurdles. The Blackbirds also had a pair of relay teams compete, as the 4x100-meter relay team finished 17th and the 4x400-meter team took 18th.
Rodney came the closest to advancing into the final of his event, finishing just five-hundredths of a second behind LSU's Aaron Ernest for the second automatic qualifier spot in the first heat. The Brampton, Ontario native ran 20.40 to pick up All-America honors for the fifth time in his career. Petit-Homme drew a tough lane assignment and ran 51.31 out of lane eight in the third and final heat to finish in the top 16 for the second straight season.

Tyler Cue,
Tyquan Dukes and
Mikhail Williamson kicked off the meet for the Blackbirds and ran 39.87, ahead of teams from South Carolina and Mississippi. LIU Brooklyn's 4x400-meter relay team of Rodney, Petit-Homme,
Adam Walker-Khan and
Alistair McLean finished with a time of 3:08.51 to conclude its record-breaking season in 18th place. All of the participants in each of the relay races for LIU earn honorable mention All-America honors for their efforts.
