CENTRAL CONNECTICUT forced five turnovers and blocked a punt to overshadow SACRED HEART's 501 yards of offense and post a 26-15 win in what was the NEC opener for both sides. CCSU senior Cameron Nash rushed 21 times for 157 yards while Drew Jean-Guillaume scored a pair of touchdowns as the Blue Devils defeated their intrastate rival for the third year in a row.

SAINT FRANCIS kept Liberty scoreless for the first 57:25 and hung on for a 13-7 victory in Lynchburg. Quarterback Bear Fenimore threw two touchdowns passes while the Red Flash defense forced the Flames, who are transitioning up the FBS level, into four turnovers.

WAGNER intercepted Lehigh's high-powered passing attack five times en-route to a 37-20 victory over the Patriot League member on Grymes Hill. David Thomas was responsible for three of the picks while running backs Denzel Knight and Ryan Fulse combined for 255 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

Following a scoreless first 15:00, DUQUESNE erupted for 24 points in the second period and rolled to a 38-13 victory over Division II member West Virginia Wesleyan. Tommy Stuart threw for four touchdowns while linebacker Nathan Stone came away with 2.5 sacks and a fumble recovery in the Dukes' latest scheduled home opener since 1970.

No. 15 New Hampshire shot out to a 17-0 first-quarter lead and BRYANT never fully recovered. Rookie running back Isaac McCray tallied 121 yards from scrimmage as the visiting Bulldogs totaled 427 yards and 23 first downs in defeat.
