NEC MEN’S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Troye Kiernan, Saint Francis U
Sr., M, Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair

Kiernan tallied two goals and two assists for six points as Saint Francis U rallied from two goals down for a 4-2 season-opening win over Duquesne on Friday. The senior had a hand in all four goals for the Red Flash, which all came in the second half. The second team All-NEC midfielder cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 56th minute scoring on a rebound after his shot hit the post, then added an insurance marker in the 86th minute off a counter attack.

NEC MEN’S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kevin Smolyn, Saint Francis U
Fr., M, Holland, PA/Germantown Academy

Smolyn recorded an assist in his collegiate debut against Duquesne on Friday. The freshman set up Tulio Canineu for the game-tying goal in Saint Francis U’s 4-2 victory over Duquesne.

NEC  PRIME PERFORMERS

RMU senior midfielder Bayley Winkel (Whitby, Ontario/University of Drexel) tallied three goals in the Colonials’ first two games. The senior had a goal against Cleveland State in the season opener and then notched a brace in RMU’s home opener against St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
